Prof Chiedozie Egesi has been appointed the new Executive Director of the National Root Crops Research Institute (NRCRI), Umudike. Prof Egesi has an excellent track record as an agricultural scientist and astute administrator going by his performance in both national and international agricultural sciences circles. Egesi’s stint with international research centers such as the International Center for Tropical Agriculture (CIAT), Colombia, and the International Institute of Tropical Agriculture (IITA), Nigeria; and renowned universities such as the Cornell University USA are a few examples of his extensive knowledge in the field of scientific research, particularly in the agricultural sector.
