”Feed the Future” Program to Improve Nutrition in Nigeria – USAID
The United States Agency for International Development (USAID) says its Feed the Future Program is aimed at building sustainable livelihoods and improved nutrition of beneficiaries. USAID/NIGERIA Feed the Future Team Lead, Economic Growth and Environment Office, Jazmian Ohanyere stated this at the Fiscal Year 22 Fourth Quarter Global Food Security Strategy (GFSS) Stakeholders meeting held at the IITA, Ibadan. At the event Themed, “Innovative Agriculture Value Chain Development; opportunities, challenges and way forward”, a development expert, Professor Janice Olawoye urged Nigerians, to patronise Nigerian products, as it would create opportunities and innovative agricultural value chain development. During their presentations, the Coordinating partners gave updates on their individual GFSS/FTF field activities, while beneficiaries also narrated the transformative impacts of the program on their lives and communities. On her part, Zonal Director, Federal Ministry of Agriculture and Rural Development, FMARD, South-West, Omolara Oguntuyi, who spoke on the activities of FMARD said the Ministry was training Youths and on how to grow Yams in bag.
